MAKING JEWELRY WITH BEADS

Beading is one of the most ancient types of jewelry making methods still around today. Popular to cultures and societal groups such as the Native Americans,  Egyptians and more. There are many different types of beading methods & applications for their use. Beading today is just as popular and fashion designers incorporate it in every aspect of apparel and accessories from jewelry to clothing. Beads come in all shapes, all sizes, all colors, and are made from a variety of materials. The most popular types of beads are as follows:
Crystal Beads – Crystal beads are highly refractive offering a lot of sparkle. Typically they cost more than acrylic but make for a lovely finished piece
Glass Beads – Glass beads are very common in beaded jewelry and come in several sizes, types and colors.
Stone Beads – Tis type of bead is made from stone such as limestone and varies in shape and size.
Seed Beads – Seed beads are very simple, small in size and round in shape. They are made from an assortment of materials such as glass, acrylic and metal. Typically they come in many different colors.
Metal Beads – Metal beads are made from every type of metal from gold to non-precious metals such as brass.
Plastic Beads – These simple beads are most often found in children's jewelry and come in a variety of  colors,  sizes and shapes. They are perfect for children because they are less likely to break and are cost effective.

Your out shopping and you find this fabulous piece of jewelry and know exactly who you are going to give it to; only one problem....How to wrap it, or present it? Creativity is the spice of life; as we come up with great ideas we will share them with you. After all, the only thing better than getting a gift from the heart is creating a memory surrounding it that they will always remember...

Here are a few examples:

* Limouge trinket boxes make for a beautiful and theme oriented way to give jewelry (seriously) the packaging is a gift in itself.

* Buy a beautiful jewelry box (for storing jewelry) and place the item you brought inside it appropriately. (you can wrap the item and place it inside or just leave it visible for the recipient to discover!

*Buy a small bonsai tree or an orchid plant and drape a necklace or bracelet over the top branches or blooms.

*A stuffed animal also makes a great way to display and gift a necklace or bracelet...get creative; you could even tie a bow around Teddy's neck and attach a beautiful ring or pendant to it. Pins and broaches are also great!

*Buy a flower pot (starter kit) which is usually a pot filled with dirt all ready to go and a packet of seeds or bulbs (open the packet of seeds or bulbs and place your item wrapped in saran wrap) inside of the seed packet. Make sure to tell the recipient, it's Ultra important that they tend to the planting at once and that they do not leave it up to anyone else to do. Imagine their surprise when they open that envelope.
 A little note that says something to this effect;
"I grow fonder of you every day"...."Our friendship has grown so close...Thank you"....or ..."Acquaintance GREW to friendship and friendship BLOOMED into Love, I couldn't LEAVE our/your special day unnoticed, Happy _______!"
